Everyone has heard the saying "home is where the heart is" but are we really showcasing that in our homes? Often times, I think, it's easy to get caught up in trends that may not necessarily be something that really reflects YOU and what you love. Trends, of course, are there to give us inspiration and perhaps spark an idea or help us to determine what our style is. Although I'm not opposed to trends whatsoever, I think everyone's home can be beautiful - trendy or not! I am here to help everyone design their own unique home! Love a certain trend? Find a way to incorporate it into the style that makes YOU happy. I'll be sharing my favorite spaces that have integrated some of trends I love into spaces without changing the style of the room! How do you incorporate trends into YOUR home? Drop us a comment below and let us know!
Here are some simple ways to bring trends into your homes without changing the style:
FIDDLE LEAF FIG TREE // this space effortlessly incorporates the fiddle leaf into a traditionally historic home. The tree seems right at home among vintage pieces and classic finishes. (image found here)
VINTAGE FINDS // this antique console is perfectly placed amongst a darling, on trend gallery wall. The mix of old and new is flawless in this space. Whether it be a vintage piece from a relative or something you found thrifting, it's a beautiful way to bring in some warmth and coziness to your home. (image found here)
MUDCLOTH TEXTILES // I think we all are in love with the authenticity this trend brings into our home but often it's used in very minimalist applications, most commonly used as pillow covers. Why not make more of a statement? The way this traditional chair and the mudcloth work together is beautiful and a nice way to bring the trend into your home without going a midcentury or minimalist direction. (image found here)
Long story short - own your style! There's no need to remodel your home into something you're not. Let your home reflect YOU! Need help incorporating some of these fun trends into your home? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Have a lovely day!
